ステレオタイプは案外、便利な考え方です。何かを分類するとき、即座の判断をするとき、瞬時に分類できるので大いに時間を節約することができます。僕は普段からステレオタイプというものに疑念を抱いています。

僕もブロガーという意味では、アーティストであり、執筆家であり、クリエイターの端くれとも言えます。その僕が、ブログを書くときに最も恐れているのが新しいアイデアが出なくなることです。大概、マンネリになるとは、ステレオタイプになり、新しい考え方が思いつかなくなったときに起きます。

僕は常識というものが大きな大発見のためには非常に不便なものであり、その常識を一旦外すことに意味があるということを知っています。

今回の経済学というテーマでもマクロ経済学というケインズが創始した経済学の一分野がありましたが、マクロ経済学のミクロ的基礎付けという、マクロ経済学とミクロ経済学を合体しようとした時に出てきた問題に対処するために今までのケインジアンの主流派の経済学を捨てることになりました。

新しい経済学は僕もだいぶ前に勉強したので記憶が曖昧ですが、ニューケインジアンモデルのような予測の学問となり、今までの経済政策、つまりビルト・イン・スタビライザーにおける景気の調整機能を主要な経済政策として取り扱うマクロ経済学を棄却することになりました。

マクロ経済学も強固な常識となっていた経済学に関する考え方を一度捨てて新しくニューケインジアンモデルのような理論により再出発を図ったと言えます。ただし、僕はケインズの考えたマクロ経済学は大変優秀で決して意味のないモノだとは思いません。

今回はケインズ経済学と常識に関する話でしたが、僕は常識とはあってないようなものだと思います。常識が常識であるようにステレオタイプはステレオタイプを止めません。常識とステレオタイプの差は何かといえば偏見に関すことです。

常識は中道を行くような正統派の考え方のことですが、ステレオタイプは正統派というより強固な観念であり、多くのものは偏見を含みます。常識が王道の真正面を行くようにステレオタイプは真正面も含みますが、そこからズレた偏見も含みます。

その意味では、僕たちの常識というものは偏った考え方ではなく、王道であるがために、なかなか捨てきれないのではないでしょうか。僕は、このような王道の考え方は残すべきだと思います。

保守的な考え方も必要ですが、一部では偏見を含むようなステレオタイプの考え方も必要となるでしょう。偏見こそランダム性であり、新たな創造の芽を育むからです。僕はあなたの時代は良い時代であると思います。僕の時代がそうであったように、あなたの時代も新しい発見により社会がより良く一新されていく時代であるはずです。

僕たちは恐らく同じ時代を生きていますが、また別の時代も生きています。それぞれの考え方が違うように感じ方や感覚器が違うからです。ただし、話は長くなってきましたが、僕はステレオタイプとはより良きものであると言えます。

それ自体は差別にもなり得る強固な思想でありますが、使い方によってはステレオタイプを新しい発見の土台とするのは面白いことだと思います。僕も改めて時間を取って一見して保守的であるステレオタイプと新しい発見の違いを考えてみたいです。
