Hello. I'm Ten Watanabe. Thank you.
The theme of this issue is about royalty. While royalty can be seen as the final champion in the race for success, there are also powerful figures like David, the first king of Israel, who rose from slavery to become kings.
There was a time when I dreamed of becoming a king. As many boys' manga are written with kings as their theme, it is clear that being a king is the highest ranking occupation. It is important that a king is someone who is tied to life by a single thread, like the sword of Damocles.
Just like Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution, the people can turn into a mob with just a few words. They may become emotional and try to overthrow the king. However, in the long run, it can be said that the people's judgment was correct.
Was the French Revolution really right when viewed from the perspective of future generations? I don't know what scholars' opinions are, because it's not my area of expertise. Even the opinions of those scholars are of their own time, and their opinions may be overturned by the next generation.
I believe that to become a king, one must overcome many trials. It seems that only those who have survived fierce battles can become king. However, if you think about it carefully, it is not just strong military commanders who can become king; it can also be said that a king is someone who has good character and is respected.
I believe that a king should not be the epitome of violent power, but rather a humble figure who listens to the voices of ordinary citizens. Tokugawa Ieyasu, who ruled the Edo period for 260 years, left behind a proverb that remains to this day: "The more rice ripens, the more it bows its head."
Being a king requires some proof of existence, and one must be able to prove his royal status when the time comes. Being able to prove his royal status at any time is what qualifies him as a king.
Here I think about it. What is proof of being a king? It can be said that royalty, who receive special training on a regular basis, need a seal to be recognized as a king and to be saved even when surrounded by enemies. Just like Mito Komon's seal, it would be good if possessing this item could prove one's qualifications as a king.
I believe that the greatest qualification for being a king is the support of the people. Even presidents and prime ministers may have high approval ratings at the beginning, but their approval ratings will decline to 30% or 40%. I think an approval rating of 70% or 80% is sufficient.
An approval rating of almost 100% is unrealistic, but an approval rating of 70% or 80% would be good for creating a moderate sense of tension. In Japanese politics, a leader might start out with a high approval rating of 70% or 80%, but within a year, it would drop to the 30% range and he would fall from power.
However, it can be said that a certain level of achievement is necessary to build a long-term government. The leader's personality and character also play a role, but to stay at the top for a long time, they need to keep fighting. This is because it is impossible to always have an approval rating close to 100% in a peaceful, silent environment.
Therefore, they need to train every day to be able to deal with unexpected trouble at any time. If they remain complacent, they will eventually be defeated. It can be said that royalty have value because they are constantly training and ready to fight at any time.
Royalty. Do you aspire to be royalty? A sword like Damogre's hangs from a single thread over your head. However, to remain strong, you need to train every day. As long as you do so, your throne will be maintained.
The same can be said for us living beings, and it can be said that days of training are days of glory. I don't call myself royalty, but I bought a self-help book today to motivate myself. Let's all continue to train hard so that we can continue to work hard and, if possible, become royalty.
That's all. Thank you for your growth. This was Watanabe Ten. lol
